Abby's Dedication

We had Abby dedicated this weekend at our church - Lakeside - in Folsom. First on Saturday evening we went to see Mike and Kari's twin boys' - Caleb and Chase - dedications (they go to our church as well). So adorable and they were really well behaved! And then Sunday morning was Abby's Dedication.

We were the only baby dedicated at that particular service which made it special. The dedication prayer that Pastor Brad gave was lovely. And both kids were very well behaved - no crying, no tantrums, no spit up. Excellent! And Abby got a few ah's from the congregation. :) The sermon Pastor Brad gave was perfect for a baby dedication - all about love - Corinthians chapter 13 (below). Our sister-in-law, Amber, and nephew, Ethan, were in town which was great to have them here for this. After the service we invited friends back to our house for a lunch. With family so far away, it's wonderful to have such good friends to share these events with. Everyone brought their kiddos and it was a packed house. It was so nice to watch the kids (ranging in age from 4 months to 4 years) playing together. The weather was gorgeous so we had all the windows opened up and a nice breeze. Abby - who had stayed up 4 straight hours - slept through the entire party.
Corinthians 13:4-7, 13
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
